PSAT SOURCE APPORTIONMENT MODELING/TAGGING
Introduction
Alpine Geophysics was tasked with using 2028 emission inventories developed for the VISTAS project and the CAMx v6.40 air quality model to evaluate regional haze impacts on Class 1 areas from different sources, source categories, and geographical regions. The CAMx model has a source apportionment tool (the PM Source Apportionment Technology tool) that uses reactive tracers to apportion primary PM, secondary PM and gaseous precursors to secondary PM. The tracers may also be called tags. Task 7 evaluated regional haze impacts using over 200 tags for sulfate and particulate nitrate.
